Kickout flashing is required by code for all structures where the edge of a roof at the eave meets a vertical wall. The purpose of this flashing is to divert water away from siding and vertical walls, thus preventing rot and structural damage. I have taken great care to ensure this installation was done correctly to ensure it works as expected. This particular installation was done on a standing seam roof which presented challenges that one would not encounter on an asphalt roof. It looks neat, tidy and will work as good as it looks.
