Many homes use various exterior trim which is virtually maintenance free. The trim on this house called for Kleer Lumber PVC board. This material can be cut and fastened with common carpentry tools. It is a cellular material filled with many small bubbles of PVC material. Because of this, the cut edges can be further treated with acetone to seal open cells and prevent it from collecting dirt and discoloring over time. Sill nosing and other profiles are available and have also been used here. The material is quite flexible and great care is required to ensure long pieces are installed straight and true.
